Shavlik Technologies, a leading provider of security software solutions, has announced it is now opening its beta- testing program of Shavlik NetChk Spyware, its new anti-spyware product. Unlike many current alternatives on the market, Shavlik NetChk Spyware, says the company, is "specifically engineered to meet the demands of the enterprise."

"We've built our anti-spyware solution based upon the input we received from our current customer base, most of whom indicated a need for a more effective solution than what's currently available. We're excited to be entering the public beta stage for this key new product and look forward to bringing it to the marketplace shortly," said Mark Shavlik, president and CEO of Shavlik Technologies.

Industry analysts have noted the needs for effective enterprise solutions to the spyware problem. According to Arabella Hallawell, research vice president at Gartner Research, this has been elevated to a critical need. "Our clients report that spyware has become one of the most significant security problems, and many are urgently evaluating strategies for removing and preventing spyware."

Shavlik NetChk Spyware is scheduled to be broadly available in the third quarter of 2005. The product will be available directly from Shavlik or through many of Shavlik's technology partners and resellers.
