CLEARFIELD, Utah, June 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Lifetime Products Inc. announced today that IDG's InfoWorld, the leading integrated media brand for IT decision makers, has named Lifetime's own Chief Technology Officer, John Bowden, as one of InfoWorld's Top 25 Chief Technology Officers for 2008.
The honor bestowed on Bowden and his team was awarded based on the ongoing deployment of "thin clients" throughout Lifetime's global IT network. The clients are a system of streamlined desktop computers that allows all global users to have the appropriate computer desktop experience, while protecting all of Lifetime's intellectual property by housing all software, information and networking systems on one set of servers in Utah.
Bowden, 38, has been with Lifetime for 14 years, and has brought many cutting-edge systems and business technologies to the consumer goods manufacturer.
"John does an outstanding job of aligning our IT capabilities with business direction and needs," said Richard Hendrickson, president of Lifetime. "He keeps our system safe, fast and virus free. John is exceptional when it comes to understanding how the latest technology can support our company goals and direction."
Every year since 2001, InfoWorld has honored senior IT executives who have demonstrated leadership within their companies and in the IT community. Bowden and his team fit that bill.
"This year's honorees showed how a savvy CTO can make a huge difference in leading their business to success, whether in creating a world-class product or making a critical business priority happen the right way," said Galen Gruman, executive editor of InfoWorld. "We were struck by how the best CTOs combined solid, strategic technology thinking with management prowess to make their successes happen."
