Latest Version of Easy Projects .NET Released

Logic Software has released version 2.9.1 of its project management tool, Easy Projects .NET. Logic also announced the upcoming release of Easy Projects .NET 3.0. The company is encouraging customers to buy version 2.9.1, so they can received the next update at a reduced rate.

Easy Projects is based on Microsoft's .NET technology and SQL Server 2000. The tool is designed to provide scalable and flexible solutions to project management and tracking of any complexity level. Part of Easy Projects .NET is based on the Microsoft ASP.NET Time Tracker application.

During the development of the application, Logic used Time Tracker as a base, and then expanded it drastically by adding such features as file attachments, bug tracking, customer requests, hierarchical projects, and other useful tools. The Time Tracker code base represents a little less than 10% of the overall Easy Projects .NET software.

Logic is offering a source code edition of Easy Projects .NET 2.9.1, which will enable users to completely customize the application for their purposes. Features in version 2.9.1 include, multinesting of projects and tasks, more detailed statistics and reports, creation of e-mail notifications and alerts, and issues and requests tracking.

Logic says its offering will increase productivity, by facilitating effective communication and collaboration during all stages of the project life cycle. Creating a system where information can be shared will enable projects to be delivered on time and within budget.

A major selling point that Logic stresses is the ease of use it offers with Easy Projects. Easy Projects .NET, the company says, includes only those tools and features that developers actually need. An intuitive interface is designed to make set up a pain free process. In addition, contextual tips included with version 2.9.1 allow developers to concentrate on their software projects, instead of spending time trying to figure out how to use the system.

Some features to be found in version 3.0, Logic said, include; team leader, supervisor role, and reader roles; additional reports; customizable assignments; along with a new billing module.

The Jevons Paradox suggests that when technological advances increase efficiency of a resource, it results in an overall increase in consumption. Writing on the increased use of coal as a result of technological improvements, 19th-century economist William Stanley Jevons found that these improvements led to the development of new ways to utilize coal. In his session at 19th Cloud Expo, Mark Thiele, Chief Strategy Officer for Apcera, compared the Jevons Paradox to modern-day enterprise IT, examin...

To avoid demise, organizations must rapidly create new sources of value in their end-to-end customer experiences. True digital predators also must break down information and process silos and extend digital transformation initiatives to empower employees with the digital resources needed to win, serve, and retain customers.
