REDMOND, Washington and BANGALORE, India, August 20, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --

Congresswoman DelBene represents Washington's 1st Congressional District and is also a seasoned technology entrepreneur and leader with over 20 years of experience working in the private sector with companies like Microsoft, where she served as corporate vice president of the company's mobile communications business. She understands the critical role that innovative companies play in creating opportunities for citizens and the foundation for economic growth for communities.

Sonata's facility in Redmond currently has close to 100+ employees and looks to hire more talent in the future. In a bid to increase quality career opportunities and source talent locally, Sonata initiated the LEAD Program for recent graduates with over twelve of the team being on-boarded through this route in just over half a year, from the University of Washington and Washington State University. LEAD is a comprehensively designed approach that balances the needs of graduates and the dynamic opportunities in the IT industry. The program combines an Earn-as-you-Learn paid training phase in emerging new technology areas, with subsequent opportunities to work on projects with marquee clients.

Congresswoman DelBene interacted with students from the LEAD program who shared their perspectives with her. On the occasion she said, "I want to thank Sonata Software for inviting me to tour their software development facility. Having an opportunity to tour Sonata's facility allows me to see the work they are doing to bring new high skill jobs to Redmond, and helps me better understand the challenges they are facing as a growing company. In Congress, I am working to support growing industries in Washington's 1st Congressional District, ranging from software to aerospace, biotechnology and agriculture. These cutting-edge industries make the 1st Congressional District one of the most dynamic and innovative districts in the country, and growing software companies like Sonata are playing an important role in our area's economy."

Mr. PVSN Raju, Head of Delivery, Sonata Software commented, "It has been a great experience working with talent from the community and scaling up our operations in Redmond. It adds to our local presence and connect with the community. We look forward to going further ahead with the support and good wishes of our customers and other stakeholders here."

The explosion of new web/cloud/IoT-based applications and the data they generate are transforming our world right before our eyes. Organizations that are not transparent about how their systems gather data telemetry without offering shared data ownership risk product rejection, regu...
More and more brands have jumped on the IoT bandwagon. We have an excess of wearables – activity trackers, smartwatches, smart glasses and sneakers, and more that track seemingly endless datapoints. However, most consumers have no idea what “IoT” means. Creating more wearables that track data shouldn't be the aim of brands; delivering meaningful, tangible relevance to their users should be. We're in a period in which the IoT pendulum is still swinging. Initially, it swung toward "smart for smart...

There are 66 million network cameras capturing terabytes of data. How did factories in Japan improve physical security at the facilities and improve employee productivity? Edge Computing reduces possible kilobytes of data collected per second to only a few kilobytes of data transmitted to the public cloud every day. Data is aggregated and analyzed close to sensors so only intelligent results need to be transmitted to the cloud. Non-essential data is recycled to optimize storage.
