Luxoft Recognized in Multiple Gartner Hype Cycles for Automotive and Transportation

Luxoft Holding, Inc (NYSE:LXFT), a leading provider of software development services and innovative IT solutions to a global client base, today announced that it has been listed by Gartner Inc., a leading IT research and advisory company, as a Sample Vendor in the Hype Cycle for Vehicle-Centric Information and Communication Technology (Vehicle ICT), 2014 by Thilo Koslowski, published on July 21, 2014.

The report discussed the ways in which “the connected vehicle and smart mobility era will create new cross-industry innovations and define the automotive industry's future.” Luxoft was listed in four different categories as a sample vendor.

Luxoft was listed along with CloudMade, Google, Nokia Here, Telenav, and Yahoo in the Location-Based Services in Automotive category, which “use information about the location of vehicles and users' mobile devices by using GPS technology and/or cellular or Wi-Fi triangulation. Examples are vehicle tracking, dynamic traffic services and local searches.”

Additionally, Luxoft was listed along with Apple, Clarion, Continental, Google, Intel, Magneti Marelli, Microsoft, Nokia, and TomTom in the Mobile Device Integration Into Automobiles category, which “enables the integration of mobile devices within a vehicle.”

Finally, Luxoft was listed in the Automobile eCall category which covers “automotive telematics applications that automatically send an emergency signal in case of a vehicle accident” and the Public Telematics and Intelligent Transportation Systems category, which “represents automotive information and communication technologies/services with the aim of improving traffic flow and congestion, improving taxation, addressing environmental issues, and providing intelligent transport system (ITS) solutions.”

These categories within Koslowski’s Hype Cycle were also republished in three other Gartner reports:

  • “Hype Cycle for Smart City Technologies and Solutions, 2014,” by Alfonso Velosa et.al, published on July, 22, 2014.
  • “Hype Cycle for Operational Technology, 2014,” by Kristian Steenstrup published on July 23, 2014.
  • “Hype Cycle for Digital Insurance, 2014,” by Juergen Weiss published on July 24, 2014.
