Agilysys Eatec® System Enhances Efficiency at University of Akron

Agilysys, Inc. (Nasdaq: AGYS), a leading provider of innovative information technology and hospitality software and services, today announced that the University of Akron Dining Services in Akron, Ohio, has selected the Agilysys Eatec® inventory and procurement system. The solution will enhance efficiency and streamline operations at 27 campus outlets, including dining halls, convenience stores and retail outlets. The Eatec system also will be used for catering events at the university.

"After a comprehensive search for an inventory and procurement solution that would best meet the needs of the university, we determined that the Agilysys Eatec system had the features and functionality we required," said University of Akron Director of Dining Services Gary Goldberg. "We not only have a large number of foodservice outlets but also very diverse dining and catering requirements, and the Eatec solution can accommodate our various models. Also, a big part of our mission is offering nutrition and allergen information to students, so we appreciate the system's ability to provide dietary content data. We look forward to implementing the Eatec solution and utilizing its many features."

Agilysys Eatec is a Microsoft® Windows®-based inventory, procurement and production system designed specifically for the foodservice and hospitality industries. Along with its core purchasing, inventory, recipe, forecasting, production and sales analysis functions, the software also offers modules for catering, cycle planning, retail management, nutrition and allergens. The modular structure allows customers to construct the exact set of features they need — whether it is an enterprise-wide solution for multiple sites or a single-site system for multiple functions.

"An automated inventory and procurement solution is a necessary tool for today's busy and diverse campus dining operations," said Tony Ross, vice president of sales at Agilysys. "The Eatec system, with its nutrition and catering modules, is one of the most comprehensive and full-featured inventory and procurement solutions on the market. The system not only will help the University of Akron's campus dining team control inventory, manage costs and streamline the purchasing process, but also will enable them to make lasting connections with students, parents, faculty and alumni, all of whom place their trust in the university's dining outlets."

The University of Akron Dining Services provides students, faculty, staff and alumni with a wide variety of products and services at a reasonable price. Its offerings include healthy menu items, ethnic specialties and made-to-order foods, and its catering options include both full-service catering and drop-off catering to any location on campus. The University of Akron Dining Services has received numerous awards for its foodservice operations, including a recent National Association of College & University Food Services (NACUFS) honorable mention for collegiate convenience store excellence.
