NEW YORK, March 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- VIVREAU North America (www.vivreau.com), the industry leader in sustainably focused, on-site water bottling systems, will aid in the efforts to not only eliminate plastic water bottles and reduce their client's carbon footprint, but work to provide clean drinking water to the nearly one billion people world-wide that go without. Supporting WHOLE WORLD Water, a non-profit entity working to unite the hospitality industry with green-minded values and bring clean water to people around the world, the Company has pledged to urge their current and future hospitality clients to donate 10 percent of the revenues earned from using their VIVREAU systems throughout North America to WHOLE WORLD Water.
"The UN has designated 2013 as 'The Year of International Water Cooperation'," says Drew Hamilton, Managing Director of VIVREAU in North America. "This collaboration and the potential of what can be accomplished is very exciting to us. While our systems allow the hospitality industry to bottle their own still and sparkling water, we eliminate the related plastic bottles and the unnecessary carbon footprint created by shipping and trucking water across the country or around the planet. Now, by encouraging and allowing our clients to donate a portion of their VIVREAU water revenues to WHOLE WORLD Water, it really brings the efforts full circle."
WHOLE WORLD Water's new social enterprise is set to launch on World Water Day, March 22, 2013. Founded in 2012 by award winning documentary filmmaker Karena Albers, and Jenifer Willig, former CEO of the (RED) campaign, the core belief of WHOLE WORLD Water is that if it is not good for business, it is simply not sustainable. VIVREAU North America and their clients will be part of the pioneering group that includes a growing list of advisors including revolutionary business magnate Sir Richard Branson, world renowned designer Yves Behar, and actor and environmental/social activist Edward Norton, which partners the hospitality and tourism industry to collectively address one of the world's most pressing issues – access to safe and clean water.
"Today, 780 million people worldwide are without access to clean and safe drinking water, and an estimated 2.4 billion lack access to basic sanitation," stated Jenifer Willig. "WHOLE WORLD Water members seek to prove that social, environmental and economic progress are not mutually exclusive."
"We are thrilled about VIVREAU North America's involvement in WHOLE WORLD Water and what will be possible. Their extensive client network and many years of experience serving hospitality clients around the globe definitely pushes the industry to continue to evolve and realize collectively they can indeed switch to this kind of sustainable water program, protect their revenues and give back to those desperately in need." said Karena Albers co-founder.
Hamilton concluded, "To help hotels and restaurants become more sustainable and reduce their carbon footprint, and now to be able to utilize that same network through a partnership with WHOLE WORLD Water to help bring access to clean water to people in need across the globe...it just simply makes sense in every way."
VIVREAU North America provides leading Fortune 500 companies, hotels, conference centers and restaurants the ability to offer their 'own' limitless, chilled, advanced micro-filtered sparkling and still water in reusable glass bottles branded with their logo and message of commitment to being environmentally responsible. By designing, engineering and manufacturing its own systems, along with its ready-to-use installation, preventative maintenance and Client Care program, VIVREAU delivers the most reliable service and offers the most advanced, highest capacity systems available in the industry.
