TeamViewer®, one of the world’s most popular providers of remote control and online meetings software, today announced an update to the TeamViewer for Remote Control Android app. The update makes mobile remote access even easier with direct touch control and new capabilities, including:
- New Input Method for Tablets – control remote devices with direct touch as opposed to cursor-based movement
- Windows 8 gestures – Android tablets can remote control Windows 8 devices using the Windows 8 native gestures
- Optimizations for Android 4.2
The update to the TeamViewer for Remote Control Android app will provide users with an ease of functionality that is essential among Android tablet users when accessing remote devices. Additional improvements include a make-over for the app settings and the account registration process, and new app instructions.

The new direct touch control and support of Windows 8 native gestures provides our users with an easier experience when remotely accessing their computers.”
With the TeamViewer for Remote Control App users are able to provide remote support for colleagues and friends while on the road. The app includes complete keyboard control and allows users to effortlessly access Windows, Mac or Linux computers behind firewalls and proxy servers.
