HUERTH, Germany, March 19, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
The wind of change is blowing at hosting provider intergenia. A few weeks ago, the new management team got to work at corporate headquarters in Hürth near Cologne, Germany. Four experts in their respective disciplines now head up the corporation. After ten years, the founders and previous members of the Management Board have decided to support the corporation in the future by serving on the Supervisory Board, and to devote time to other projects.
Jan-Jaap Jager, who boasts more than ten years' experience in the hosting industry, has been appointed CEO. The native of the Netherlands kicked off his career at Microsoft. He was the first Microsoft employee in Germany to recognize the importance of hosting and set up a division at Microsoft to handle this business. He subsequently joined Parallels, the market leader in desktop virtualization and cloud automation solutions. As Vice President / General Manager APAC he was responsible for opening up and developing the Asian market.
Ernesto Fries has joined as CTO. He established his own business, Mesh GmbH, in 2001 and headed it up until 2009. The business specializes in IP and cloud services as well as in colocation. He subsequently switched to the Supervisory Board of Mesh before relocating to Singapore to join Inetpeople Holding as Managing Director.
The new CMO, Mark Beyer, is responsible for Marketing and Product Management. He has worked in the hosting industry for about 15 years and played a key role in setting up and developing Strato AG. He also managed 1&1's expansion into the UK and the US. After selling his company humyo.com he has now returned to the hosting industry.
From now on Bernhard Vogtland will manage intergenia's finances in his capacity as CFO. He began his career as a tax adviser and auditor at Price Waterhouse. He most recently headed up the Corporate Finance, Tax and Investor Relations team at Cognis GmbH (now a BASF subsidiary).
The holding corporation intergenia and its brands have been market leaders in the dedicated and managed server hosting sector for more than ten years. An action program to be implemented by the new management team is designed to maintain and enhance this leadership. This includes focusing the strategies of individual brands in order to meet the needs of particular target audiences in an even more specific manner. Furthermore, customer service is being enhanced, and customer requirements are being factored to a considerably greater extent into new product development. To date, this has delivered the new brand Unmetered.com, as well as several add-ons for the serverloft brand.
