ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill., March 6, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Video Gaming Technologies, Inc. (VGT), a leading manufacturer of video gaming terminals for the Illinois market as well as Class II and emerging gaming devices, recently introduced their social media platforms to increase awareness about the company's Vega$ Jackpot$® terminals in operation throughout the state of Illinois.
"Here at VGT we understand the importance of social media in getting the word out about our new Vega$ Jackpot$® video gaming terminals," said Jon Yarbrough, CEO. "Through our social media marketing, we're not only informing the public about our product, but we're also providing an added value to our operators."
In an effort to generate buzz and excitement about players now having the option of playing their favorite terminals at local taverns, VGT has created the Vega$ Jackpot$® Facebook page and Twitter Feed.
In launching these two new platforms, VGT hosted a Cherry 96™ sweepstakes where one lucky winner walked away with over $300 worth of VGT prizes. The sweepstakes, which included a targeted Facebook advertising campaign, grew the fan base to over 1,100 in just four weeks.
"It's an exciting time for VGT in including social media as part of our marketing efforts. We're looking forward to getting to know the Illinois player base, and we feel social media will play a huge role in doing just that," said Vanessa Cabrera, IL sales and marketing coordinator at VGT. "We understand that when it comes to social media, it's about our fans and followers and the ability to have an open dialogue with them about our products and services. This will better enable VGT to provide a superior gaming entertainment experience."
In addition to the Cherry 96™ sweepstakes, the Vega$ Jackpot$® page also includes an interactive Google map that shows players where all Vega$ Jackpot$® terminals are located across the state. VGT will continue to update this map to inform players about new video gaming locations.
VGT hopes to work with current operators to drive traffic to gaming locations with continued social media marketing tactics, including a tab with more information about the different Vega$ Jackpot$® games, as well as more sweepstakes and contests to come.
