LOS ANGELES, Feb. 13, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- causora.com has launched the first of its kind online marketplace where people can turn their passions and skills into money for their favorite charity. This pioneering new website that offers users an enhanced way to volunteer, donate and give back, is providing support to entertainment superstar Marc Anthony, who has signed up to causora to support his foundation Maestro Cares.
Through the power of causora, everybody can now take the burden off their wallets and give back in the most natural way. This new model of crowdsourced philanthropy allows users who are, for example, skilled accountants, yoga instructors, musicians or designers to sell their talents to another user on the online marketplace. Once purchased, all net proceeds go directly to their charity of choice.
Over 150 nonprofit organizations and foundations have already signed up and users have submitted offers worth $100,000 within weeks after launch. Services span from travel advice, computer support, yoga lessons, model shoots, and cooking classes.
As of today, users can also purchase exclusive tickets to Marc Anthony's benefit concert at the Barclays Center on Friday, February 15 at 7p.m and meet in person with the global pop icon. Proceeds from the ticket sale will benefit the Maestro Cares Foundation (@maestrocares), a non-profit organization that supports children in need in developing countries throughout Latin America.
Marc Anthony says ""We are happy to partner with causora to give fans an opportunity to purchase tickets for this week's concert and an exclusive meet-and-greet at the Barclays Center. All proceeds will benefit Maestro Cares to support children in need, who are in much need of our support."
Kai Buehler, CEO of causora.com comments, "causora is creating an additional stream of donations for charitable organizations. We are absolutely thrilled to offer our community the opportunity to enjoy this fabulous concert with Marc Anthony while doing good in the world."
