SEATTLE, WA and MUNICH, GERMANY -- (Marketwire) -- 02/12/13 -- TEAGUE today announced the launch of a new campaign, Take Travel Back, aimed at solving the pain points and large-scale problems associated with modern day travel. As part of the Take Travel Back campaign, a website has been launched at www.taketravelback.com to encourage people from all over the world to share their travel stories, insights and ideas to help inform the product and service concepts that TEAGUE plans to unveil later this year.
"The complexities surrounding the travel experience have never been so great," said Murray Camens, Vice President of TEAGUE's Aviation Studio. "Our expertise, perspective and deep understanding of the transportation space places us in the ideal position to tackle the ambitious design challenges associated with travel today."
TEAGUE will merge the best of traditional user-centered design with new research methods and approaches to design based on today's more discerning consumers to create the type of meaningful innovation for the travel industry that's expected from brands today. "It's not in the nature of our industry to identify a problem and look the other way," said Camens. "We want to solve these problems, and we want to do it together with people and partners that are inspired to do the same. Take Travel Back is our first step toward creating travel experiences that are truly enjoyable, enriching, efficient and dignified."
As part of the campaign, TEAGUE is offering a $500 award for the most original and compelling idea to improve the travel experience. The submission deadline for the Take Travel Back "Big Idea Contest" is April 30, 2013. The winning idea will be selected in May 2013 by a jury of travel experts including: Mary Kirby, Editor-in-Chief, Airline Passenger Experience magazine; Greg Lindsay, writer and author of "Aerotropolis: The Way We'll Live Next" and Anthony James, Editorial Director, Aircraft Interiors International & Passenger Terminal World magazines.
TEAGUE has a well-established reputation in transportation design, particularly within the aviation industry, working with clients such as Panasonic Avionics, B/E Aerospace, Bombardier and Rockwell Collins. TEAGUE's 67-year relationship with The Boeing Company has resulted in some of the most recognized designs in commercial aviation including the new 787 Dreamliner, 747-8 Intercontinental and 737.
