Kitmaker, the oldest Spanish company in the mobile gaming market, through a resolution from last December 18, 2012 of the Regional Ministry of Public Administration of the Balearic Government, acquired lot 7A at ParcBit. In the 1,926 sq meters of land, Kitmaker will build a 2,000 sq meter office ensuring the growth of the company and offering a space to the companies within the same industry interested in creating a space for collaboration and development.
The company’s CEO, Gabriel Muntaner, stressed the importance of this acquisition in the current context, since during crisis is when investment from companies becomes more valuable, not only for its power to reactivate economy, but also, as in the case of Kitmaker, as a fundamental element to open opportunities for young students and talent that Spain should retain.
"We are pushing for new technologies, for content globalization, and from Mallorca we reach today 900 million mobile users. This investment pretends to strengthen our market position and empower the new generations of programmers and designers. Currently we have 24 job openings that we haven’t been able to cover, and we are in the lookout of this talent,” said the executive.
ParcBit (Balearic Technological Innovation Park) is a technology park, whose construction was led by the Government of the Balearic Islands, with the objective to provide a platform for implementing and developing information collaboration in the Balearic Islands. Over 130 companies have their corporate offices there, including a Microsoft innovation center.
