SAN JOSE, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 02/07/13 -- AltiGen Communications, Inc. (OTCQX: ATGN), the leading provider of integrated Microsoft-based Unified Communications solutions, today announced the appointment of Michael Brodsky to its board of directors.
Michael Brodsky brings nearly 20 years of experience as an investor, manager and attorney with experience in software, e-commerce, and online media. Mr. Brodsky is a partner at Spring Valley Partners, a business consultancy. Mr. Brodsky is also currently Chairman of the Board of Directors of Genesis Land Development Corporation, a leading developer of residential real estate located principally in Canada's Alberta Province. He is also presently on the Board of Directors of Selectica, Inc. a leader in configuration and contract management software. Mr. Brodsky served as the Executive Chairman of Youbet.com, Inc., the leading publicly traded online domestic gaming company in the United States. At the time of the completion of the sale of Youbet.com to Churchill Downs Inc., Mr. Brodsky was elected to the Board of Directors of Churchill Downs. Prior to serving as Youbet's Executive Chairman, Mr. Brodsky served as the company's President and CEO. Prior to joining Youbet, Mr. Brodsky was the Managing Partner at New World Opportunity Partners, the public investment arm of the Chicago-based Pritzker family, investing in publicly traded e-commerce and software companies. Prior to that, Mr. Brodsky served as the Chief Financial Officer of The Away Network, an online travel media company that owned and managed the sites, Away.com, OutsideOnline.com, GORP.com and AdventurousTraveler.com. At the time of the acquisition the Away Network by Orbitz.com and Cendant Corporation Mr. Brodsky became Vice President of Finance in Cendant's Travel Services Division. Mr. Brodsky holds a B.A. from Syracuse University, a J.D. from the Northwestern University School of Law, and an M.B.A. from Northwestern University's J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
