LAS VEGAS, NV -- (Marketwire) -- 02/04/13 -- Shift4 Corporation, the world's largest independent payment gateway, is pleased to announce an extremely successful weekend for their Birdies4Shriners fundraising campaign.
Shift4-sponsored PGA TOUR professionals Scott Piercy and Ryan Moore placed third and fourth, respectively, in the Waste Management Phoenix Open this weekend, making it an excellent tournament for the Birdies4Shriners fundraising campaign, which combines giving and golf to benefit Shriners Hospitals for Children. The program allows donors to pledge a specific amount for each shot under par made by Piercy and Moore during the season. Shift4 adds to those donations with a generous contribution of their own: $100 for each birdie, $500 for each eagle, and $1,000 for each ace.
"These two young men played some amazing golf, generating between them 55 birdies and an eagle," said Shift4 CEO Dave Oder. "That's $6,000 in donations just from Shift4!"
Last year, Birdies4Shriners generated $75,000 in donations for the Shriners Hospitals for Children, but with increased public participation, this year's total is expected to be even more.
"Whether someone is able to make a donation of 25 cents per shot or 25 dollars, it all adds up and it will make for an amazing, meaningful donation to Shriners Hospitals for Children," said Shift4 COO Kathy Oder. "Best of all, every penny donated goes directly to Shriners, an organization that does wonderful things for children who so desperately need its help."
Shift4 continues to encourage public participation in the event, which runs through October 20, 2013, the final day of the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open.
Those interested in participating in Birdies4Shriners to support the Shriners Hospitals for Children can find the donation page through links on www.shift4.com/Birdies4Shriners or www.shrinershospitalsopen.com.
