SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 23, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Radius, the leading provider of sales and marketing intelligence for targeting the small business market, today announced the completion of a $12.4M Series B funding with participation from American Express and certain existing investors, including Blue Run Ventures.
The investment supports Radius' continued development of its sales intelligence platform, enabling more than 10 million sales professionals to better target and reach small businesses through improved data, information and insights. With superior tools for discovering new prospects, researching leads and keeping CRM data up-to-date, Radius seamlessly integrates with Salesforce.com and Microsoft Dynamics, making these CRM tools more dynamic and each opportunity actionable.
Radius will also leverage the funding to expand its comprehensive index of information about small- and medium-sized businesses as the company's technology infrastructure, powered by social and location-based data, tracks the health of over 20 million small businesses in the United States. By analyzing and organizing data from across the web, this index becomes the definitive intelligence destination for marketers in business insurance, payment services banking and credit cards, telecoms and other industries looking to more effectively sell to small business.
"Small business is the fastest growing segment of the U.S. economy and accounts for a staggering 99.7 percent of all employers in the U.S. Understanding what makes small businesses grow and become successful is vital for our customers as they look to target this market," said Darian Shirazi, Radius Founder and CEO. "We are thrilled to have American Express, a company which truly understands the value and vitality of the small business environment, as a new investor. We look forward to exploring new opportunities with American Express so we can better understand the unique needs of the small business community and provide our customers with more valuable insight to make their jobs easier and more successful."
"We are impressed by Radius' dedication to understanding what makes small businesses successful," said Harshul Sanghi, Managing Partner of American Express' Digital Commerce Initiative. "As Radius continues to build its comprehensive index of information on small businesses, we believe they offer a fantastic opportunity to efficiently understand the needs of the small business owner."
