Phil Atkinson and Andrew Duce join Mimecast to drive partner recruitment and enterprise alliances across Europe
22nd January 2013 - London: Mimecast, the leading supplier of cloud-based email archiving, security and continuity for Microsoft Exchange, Hosted Exchange and Office 365, has announced two senior hires for the company's European channel and sales teams. Phil Atkinson joins as Strategic Alliance Director for Europe, and Andrew Duce as Enterprise Sales Director for Europe.
Following a period of consistently high growth, which recently saw Mimecast secure $62.15 million in Series C funding from Insight Venture Partners and Dawn Capital, these senior hires will help the company continue its expansion within the UK and across Europe.
As Strategic Alliance Director, Atkinson, who previously spent over ten years with Microsoft, will be tasked with building and strengthening Mimecast's relationships with its alliance partners and working to maximise these relationships for partner recruitment, enablement and customer acquisition. Mimecast's existing Alliance Partners include Microsoft, Hewlett-Packard, Sendmail and migration specialists, Binary Tree.
In his role as Enterprise Sales Director, Andrew Duce will be responsible for building the enterprise team in Europe and working with Mimecast partners to build and service the company's enterprise customer base.
Duce has more than 12 years' experience in the IT sector, including six years at Hewlett Packard where he held the position of Enterprise Business Sales Manager.
Phil Atkinson joined Mimecast from the Enterprise Partner Team at Microsoft, where he held the role of Partner Account Manager, responsible for Microsoft's business with Capgemini and CSC.
Alan Kenny, General Manager, Mimecast Europe commented: "At Mimecast, we rely on our partners for 100% of our sales activities, so having a strong channel team is absolutely vital. Our success depends on our partner community and on our ability to help them add value for their customers. I am delighted to announce these new appointments, and am sure that both Phil and Andrew, with their combined expertise and experience in some of the world's biggest technology companies, will help us continue to deliver fantastic value for both our customers and partners and drive growth for the company across Europe."
"Mimecast's technology drives real business value and is clearly differentiated from the competition," commented Duce. "The company has a strong commitment to building and maintaining relationships with existing and potential partners," commented Duce. "Mimecast is a business I have long admired and I look forward to helping the company build on its success by working to grow and deliver business value to our enterprise customer base alongside our great network of channel partners."
Atkinson added: "I'm hugely excited to take up this new role and hope to continue Mimecast's great work in developing long-term, strategic relationships with the company's alliance partners across Europe. Mimecast has fantastic technology and a very mature attitude to partnering. By partnering with vendors such as Microsoft and HP, the business can create some incredibly powerful value propositions for both partners and customers. I look forward to working with the team to help create and deliver high level partner programmes that will compliment and accelerate the Mimecast business' track record of phenomenal growth."
