IGEL Partner Days: Maintaining Momentum in the Thin Client Business

Reading, UK, January 9th, 2013 IGEL Technology today announced two key events for its thin client resellers in the UK in 2013. As part of its annual re-certification and accreditation program, IGEL will host UK Partner Days in Reading and Manchester to technically and commercially update existing partners on upcoming products and to introduce new partners to the technology benefits of IGEL thin clients.

Following on from a record 2012, with continued strong organic growth in sales of its Universal Desktop thin clients and for its Universal Desktop Conversion software, designed to convert old PCs and thin clients into easy to manage IGEL desktops, IGEL UK is looking to maintain its market momentum.

At the forthcoming partner days, resellers will learn more about IGEL's leading product roadmap for 2013 and marketing activities for the year, as well as hearing about the latest developments from important technology partners, such as VDI-in-a-Box from Citrix, Biometric Sign On from Digital Persona and IGEL's strong collaboration with Microsoft.

"Thin clients continue to be an important part of the desktop decision for many organizations, as they switch to cloud computing, VDI environments or conventional server-based computing," said Michele Nicholson, IGEL's Channel Sales Manager for the UK. "Our Partner Days will demonstrate that IGEL continues to be the clear technology choice for our partners and their customers especially through further integration of key supporting solutions within our firmware."

To implement this, IGEL has integrated a broad range of software clients, tools and protocols in its powerful firmware solution. In addition to permitting conventional forms of access to Server Based Computing in Windows®, Citrix® and Linux, these services also allow direct access to virtual desktops (VMware®, Citrix®, Microsoft®, RedHat® etc.), legacy host, SAP, Java and Web-based applications as well as VoIP. For the greatest possible security, all IGEL devices also support VPN and smartcard use. All Universal Desktop models can be centrally administered in a convenient, standardized and economical manner using the IGEL Universal Management Suite, which comes standard with the management software included with each unit. Furthermore, IGEL's collaboration with experienced, capable partners and IT-sector specialists allows it to supply fast and flexible customized solutions right on location whenever necessary.
