Le salon International CES 2013 ouvre ses portes en battant des records

Le salon International CES® 2013, qui a ouvert ses portes aujourd'hui, accueille plus de 3 250 entreprises participantes dans des salles d'exposition s'étendant sur 175 000 mètres carrés, battant ainsi les records établis l'an dernier, tant au niveau de la superficie que du nombre d'exposants. Le préambule du salon de cette année s'est distingué par l'innovation caractérisant les événements médiatiques qui ont ouvert cette manifestation avec 74 entreprises présentant leurs toutes dernières technologies lors de l'événement CES Unveiled dans la soirée de dimanche et près de 30 exposants lançant leurs nouveaux produits à l'occasion de CES Press Day. Propriété et production de la Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)®, le salon International CES 2013, la plus importante manifestation annuelle au monde consacrée à l'innovation, ouvre aujourd'hui ses portes et se déroulera jusqu'au 11 janvier à Las Vegas, dans le Nevada.

« Quelque 20 000 nouveaux produits seront lancés cette semaine à l'occasion du salon International CES 2013, et nous ne pourrions être plus enthousiasmés de démarrer ce salon qui bat des records », déclare Gary Shapiro, président-directeur général de la CEA. « Le CES a une histoire incroyable à raconter, avec toutes les entreprises technologiques majeures venant des quatre coins du globe pour participer au CES de cette année afin de mettre en lumière leurs innovations. »

Le Dr Paul Jacobs, président-directeur général (CEO) de Qualcomm, a prononcé lundi soir le discours liminaire en préambule du salon afin de mettre en exergue les origines mobiles de l'entreprise. « Nous nous situons au cœur des dispositifs mobiles qui sont essentiels à tout ce que l'on fait », observe le Dr Jacobs. Il a été rejoint sur l'estrade par Steve Ballmer, le président-directeur général de Microsoft, pour faire une démonstration de produits Microsoft Windows équipés du processeur Qualcomm Snapdragon 10. Le Snapdragon sera un processeur haut de gamme pour les tablettes, les smartphones et les PC de bureau, exploitant la puissance du LTE, de l'ultra HD et de la carte son 7.1 surround.

Cet événement a été marqué par la présence d'une pléiade de vedettes, offrant en première des bandes annonce de films qui sortiront prochainement. Les célébrités présentes étaient le réalisateur Guillermo Del Toro, les pilotes du NASCAR Brad Keselowski et Marc Jenkins, l'actrice Alice Eve du film Star Trek Into Darkness, ainsi que Scott Chambers et Big Bird de Sesame Street. L'événement s'est conclu par une prestation d'Adam Levine et de deux autres membres du groupe Maroon 5, aux nombreux disques de platine et trois fois lauréat des Grammy Awards.

Les événements médiatiques précédant le CES ont démarré dimanche soir avec CES Unveiled: The Official Press Event of CES (Présentation du CES : le point de presse officiel). Soixante-quatorze entreprises exposantes ont attiré l'une des foules les plus nombreuses qu'il ait été donné de voir à CES Unveiled, avec notamment 3M Touch Systems, Body Media, Canopy Co., Chevrolet, Fitbug, Goal Zero, HAPI Labs, House of Marley, Hz0, Liquid Image, Matrix Audio, Parrot, Synaptics et Urban Hello. Parmi les tendances marquantes, on a noté le téléviseur ultra-HD, les tablettes hybrides, l'écran tactile flexible et les applis et solutions mobiles.

Les annonces de produits ont continué le lundi 7 janvier avec CES Press Day, un événement accueillant les conférences de presse des exposants, celles-ci atteignant un nombre record dans l'histoire du salon lors d'un CES Press Day. Parmi les annonces de produits :

  • LG – Téléviseur OLED de 55 pouces. Trois tailles de téléviseurs Ultra HD (84 pouces, 65 pouces, 55 pouces), intelligents et compatibles
  • Livio - FM Connect permet aux automobilistes écoutant la radio FM d'entrer en communication avec les programmes FM à partir de leur tableau de bord par le biais d'un smartphone branché sur Bluetooth
  • Monster - Nouveauté dans les lignes et les designs des casques stéréo, dont les casques NCredible de Nick Cannon
