Smart Imaging Technologies has signed a license agreement with Hamamatsu Photonics and added support for Nanozoomer digital slide scanners to the Simagis Live Digital Slide Management System.
Pathologists can catalog, view, annotate, share and analyze Hamamatsu digital slides on Simagis Live servers from any web browser at the diagnostic level of presentation, including integrated macro image and slide label. This enhanced slide information is important for pathologists to successfully complete diagnostic processes.
Hamamatsu digital slides are the latest addition to the company's line of digital slide formats supported by Simagis Live servers. Smart Imaging Technologies' digital pathology software also supports digital slide formats from other major manufacturers of slide scanners, including Aperio, Leica, Ventana and Mikroscan among others. Live examples of supported digital slides can be found online at http://host.simagis.com/live/guest.
"Our mission is to provide interoperability and integration in the fragmented and rapidly evolving space of Digital Pathology," says CEO and founder Vitali Khvatkov. “Hamamatsu is a key market player that provides fast reliable scanners with great image quality. With addition of Nanozoomer scanners we support over 90% of digital slide scanners deployed in the market and can provide the pathology community with a system that offers truly universal support for diagnostic processes across geographic boundaries," he added.
