Unlocking the power of big data, mobile and social media will transform digital marketing in 2013, according to 25 experts featured in global interactive marketing provider ExactTarget’s (NYSE:ET) new Inspired Marketing Predictions guide released today.
The guide features predictions for emerging trends across email, mobile, social, cross-channel and marketing automation from industry leaders, including Adobe, Direct Marketing Association, ExactTarget, Microsoft, Scotts Miracle-Gro and Urban Airship.
“The new year provides new opportunities for marketers to create innovative, customer experiences that build loyalty and deliver business results across email, mobile, social media and the Web,” said Tim Kopp, ExactTarget’s chief marketing officer. “The Inspired Predictions Marketing guide provides exclusive industry-leading advice to inspire and enable organizations around the world to transform their business with digital marketing.”

“In 2013, brands will eschew the strategy of hope and embrace a new strategy of help- and in doing so, will usher in a new era of marketing,” states Jay Baer, author of The Now Revolution, president of Convince & Convert, and contributor to the guide. “Simultaneous shifts in how, why and how much information customers consume have fundamentally altered marketers’ formula for success.”
The launch of ExactTarget’s Inspired Marketing Predictions for 2013 follows the release of a new commissioned study conducted by Forrester Consulting on behalf of ExactTarget that found 35 percent of marketers ranked managing marketing campaigns across multiple marketing point solutions as one of their greatest challenges - despite 78 percent who said they believe cross-channel marketing is important or very important to their business.
