Menigo, helhetsleverantören för professionell kokkonst, väljer DH2i:s applikationsvirtualisering för Microsoft SQL server

FORT COLLINS, Colorado, Dec. 7, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- DH2i™ Company, världens ledande leverantör av icke-hypervisor baserade lösningar för applikationsvirtualisering, rapporterade idag att Menigo, Sveriges ledande leverantör av professionella kulinariska produkter och tillbehör, har valt dess DxConsole™ 2012R2 för applikationsvirtualisering för att garantera "always-on" (alltid-på) kapacitet, liksom för att förenkla hantering, öka applikationernas stabilitet och öka produktiviteten för Menigo's mest affärskritiska, intäktsgenererande program - samtidigt som relaterade kostnader sänks med över 50%.

Menigo tog nyligen DH2i:s DxConsole i bruk i samband med en genomgripande teknologisk uppdatering.  En viktig del av den övergripande strategin hade varit att hitta en högtillgänglig (high availability, HA) Microsoft SQL Server-lösning för att ersätta det befintliga PolyServe-klustrets systemteknologi från Hewlett-Packard (HP), som hade tjänat ut sin roll.  Efter en period av omfattande forskning och testning, sammanställde projektledaren Martin Persson, IT-tekniker för server/datalager ett mycket detaljerat beslutsunderlag som förelades företagsledningen.  Beslutsunderlaget innehöll en mycket preciserad beskrivning av den rekommenderade totallösningen, stödd av en detaljerad analys av varje enskild teknologi som utvärderats av honom och hans team, tillsammans med alla tillhörande kostnader. 

DH2i:s DxConsole identifierades som den ideala lösningen för att maximera Menigos miljö för SQL-servern - även jämfört med Microsofts och lösningar från andra tredje partsleverantörer som övervägdes.  Medan DxConsoles ursprungliga attraktion låg i att den skulle ge samma enterprise-klass "always-on" kapacitet som erbjöds av Microsoft med dess SQL Server 2012, till en bråkdel av kostnaden, förseglades avtalet sedan Persson bevittnat DxConsoles övriga fördelar, inklusive förenklad datalagring, ökad applikationsstabilitet, produktivitetsförhöjning och en kostnadsbesparing på över 50%.

Menigos uppdaterade datacenter, som tjänar mer än 1 000 användare från över 650 kunder, består nu av DH2i:s DxConsoles programvara för applikationsvirtualisering, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft SharePoint, HP BladeSystem servers, HP LeftHand P4000 Disk Storage och klustrad VMware. Denna infrastruktur stöder såväl icke-kritisk, som Menigos mest affärskritiska applikationer - inklusive dess website, ehandel- och logistiksystem.  För att bevara dynamiken, installerades DxConsole virtuellt, i kontrast till på en fysisk plattform, som var fallet med den tidigare PolyServe-teknologin.
