Bloomberg today announced that Josh Rucci, former senior executive at Getty Images, has joined Bloomberg Media Group as global head of content sales. In the newly formed position, Rucci is responsible for sales of news, photos, video and other products to newspapers, magazines, broadcasters and online publishers around the world. Bloomberg's diverse content includes business, finance, politics, technology, luxury and other key verticals. Rucci is based in London and reports to Susan Vobejda, general manager of Bloomberg Media Licensing and Distribution.
"We are pleased to welcome Josh at this important time for Bloomberg, as we continue to sign important new deals with publishers and clients," said Vobejda. "Josh's expertise and strong history in content sales make him an ideal fit as we expand our media licensing and distribution deals globally."
During Rucci's time at Getty Images, he held senior sales and business development positions, most recently overseeing the management of photo, video and music distribution in key markets to media clients globally. Prior to joining Getty Images, he held sales and business development roles and ESPN and Reuters.
"Bloomberg’s strength as a global news organization allows us to deliver fast, accurate, high-quality, market-moving news," Rucci said. "As the media industry continues to evolve, we're positioned to offer companies products and resources unmatched in the global marketplace."
Bloomberg has formed agreements with hundreds of global media companies and institutions to license content including Bloomberg News, Bloomberg View, Bloomberg Businessweek and photos. In addition, Bloomberg has a new video product suite with the highest production values, as well as select print data products. The company's tagging technology enables customers to get customized content based on their needs. For example, clients can get premium collections of news, interviews and special event clips on specific topics (i.e. sustainability), industries and geographies. Bloomberg also offers "top news" across topics and regions in both text and video that cover the leading stories of the day.
