Last month, when Hurricane Sandy flooded several lower Manhattan data centers, venerable news groups such as the The Huffington Post, Buzz Feed and Gawker, were down for hours.
In areas like Santa Clara, CA, which has a 99.69% chance of a major earthquake within the next 50 years, mitigation for data centers is a much discussed topic.
That’s one of the reasons why “The 3rd Forum on Financing, Investing and Real Estate Development for Data Centers,” sponsored by the Information Management Network, will be held at the Hyatt Regency in Santa Clara on November 29th-30th 2012.
Increasingly, for customers, Jain says “Failure is not an option for data centers. AiNET is one of the only Tier IV facilities in the U.S. and we’ve never lost power, even during the most severe of storms and other natural disasters.”
Jain will speak on a panel entitled “No Excuse for Down Time: How to Handle Data Center Failure,” at 10:40 AM on September 29th.
But as extreme weather conditions occur more frequently around the globe, the organizations that entrust their most valuable information to data centers must be protected. Data centers must design and improve their back-up systems well beyond standard redundancy and operations of the past, to effectively safeguard the data that is entrusted to them.
AiNET’s Jain, a Beltsville, MD based leader in the design, construction, operation, and support of Internet data centers, can offer conference participants innovative ideas for how to adapt their data centers to our changing climate. He plans to discuss how advances in data center IT and infrastructure equipment can protect, automate and improve IT operations at the data center. Jain will discuss AiNET’s patented Critical Power Protection System and the landmark advances it brings to infrastructure reliability and protection.
Other presentations and panels at the conference will address key issues such as how to protect data centers from failures, redundancies that don’t work, anti-failure systems and reactions to causes of failure. Attendees and speakers include data center owners and engineers.
Media may attend the conference gratis. Please contact Joanna Christopoulos, JChristopoulos@euromoneyny.com.
