Aldata Hires Supply Chain Expert to Expand its Northern Europe Team

November 20th 2012, Aldata, a provider of retail and distribution improvement software, today announces the expansion of its European team with the appointment of Nigel Lahiri as Strategic Accounts Director. Lahiri is tasked with using his extensive background in supply chain management solutions to support the growth of Aldata's Northern European operations. Lahiri brings with him over 20 years of both retail and generic supply chain experience with former roles at JDA Software and Manhattan Associates.

"The way in which retailers operate is changing rapidly," says Lahiri. "The rise of the omni-shopper means that the supply chain issues retailers face now are very different to 12 months ago. I'm looking forward to this new challenge and being part of such a rapidly growing team."

Graeme Cooksley, Head of International Operations, Aldata comments, "We are very excited to add Nigel to our expanding Aldata team. This is another high caliber appointment in recent weeks alongside Nicolas Cron, who has joined us to run our French team. Both appointments will bolster our European offer as we expand our EMEA operations."

The Jevons Paradox suggests that when technological advances increase efficiency of a resource, it results in an overall increase in consumption. Writing on the increased use of coal as a result of technological improvements, 19th-century economist William Stanley Jevons found that these improvements led to the development of new ways to utilize coal. In his session at 19th Cloud Expo, Mark Thiele, Chief Strategy Officer for Apcera, compared the Jevons Paradox to modern-day enterprise IT, examin...
While the focus and objectives of IoT initiatives are many and diverse, they all share a few common attributes, and one of those is the network. Commonly, that network includes the Internet, over which there isn't any real control for performance and availability. Or is there? The current state of the art for Big Data analytics, as applied to network telemetry, offers new opportunities for improving and assuring operational integrity. In his session at @ThingsExpo, Jim Frey, Vice President of S...
