SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/12/12 -- Social Starts LP, a leading angel investment fund for companies oriented toward building the "Social Construct" and the revolution this era is bringing, announced today that it has promoted Seth Rosenblatt to Lead Partner to lead the team which will analyze, and execute upon, all investments. Mr. Rosenblatt has been working with Social Starts in an advisory capacity for the last year.
Social Starts, founded by entrepreneur, technology industry veteran and investor William Lohse, recognizes that there is a new generation of businesses that are building models that are beyond social media, social applications, social networking, or even a social platform. Together with their customers, they make up the Social Construct, and represent the layering of a new methodology and perspective on the ways we communicate with each other in every part of life, both personally and in business. The Social Construct changes the way we think of connections among people and how we get information and it must be applied to all of our existing media, applications, networks, platforms, and other forms of human connection.
Mr. Rosenblatt has more than 20 years of experience in media and technology, including executive positions in both start-up companies and large enterprises. He has advised dozens of leading companies on strategy, marketing, and business development. Mr. Rosenblatt also has substantial experience in public education. He is president of the Governing Board of the San Carlos School District, currently in his second term, and he writes and speaks frequently on the topic of public education. He is also the Chief Financial Officer of The Tomorrow Project, a media company also focused on the Social Construct. Mr. Rosenblatt holds a B.A. in Economics from Dartmouth College and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
"We are very excited to have someone of Seth's caliber, experience, and perspective to take a leading role at Social Starts," said William Lohse, founder. "The companies we're investing in are building the Social Revolution, and Seth's work is integral to encouraging their success."
Social Starts and William Lohse has already invested in over 70 companies, including those in the fields of health care, gaming and entertainment, media/marketing, and enabling technologies. Social Starts has fifteen limited partners, including some of the most visionary veterans of the technology "revolutions" over the last thirty years.
