Nintex (www.nintex.com), the world’s leading SharePoint workflow company, today announced rich integration between Nintex Workflow and Yammer, the best-in-class Enterprise Social Network recently acquired by Microsoft. Leveraging the Nintex Live platform, this integration enables Yammer customers to discover and participate in business processes without having to leave the familiar Yammer environment. In addition, SharePoint customers can now extend the reach of their workflows by monitoring and responding to activity in Yammer Feeds, pushing notifications to Yammer Networks, and managing Yammer users, groups, and profiles.
“We’re making workflow social so our customers can engage their workforce and reinvent business processes in innovative new ways,” said Ryan Duguid, vice president of product management at Nintex. “Bringing SharePoint and Yammer together is a key part of that vision and it allows us to extend process to where people actually work.”
By leveraging Nintex Yammer integration, users can finally drive business processes and manage tasks directly within social media channels. For example, a user could crowd source task completion within a team, discuss a customer escalation, and document a stream of intelligence around a particular business issue or solution. IT administrators can also create Yammer users and populate profiles as part of an automated employee onboarding processes, and manage the creation of groups and membership based on organizational changes.
“Social media tools have moved interactions beyond simple status updates among friends to an era where we have real transparency and context around how work gets done in an organization,” Duguid said. “These informal interactions add a whole new depth of engagement, collaboration, and knowledge that can be built directly into workflows to improve efficiency and decision making.”
Nintex Yammer integration is available today to all existing Nintex Workflow customers through Nintex Live, a cloud platform that brings more capabilities to SharePoint by enabling customers to find, connect to, and consume cloud services.
“The SharePoint team has made it clear that 2013 is all about people, and these investments make workflow all about people, too,” said Mike Fitzmaurice, vice president of product technology for Nintex. “Moreover, they represent yet one more payoff from the cloud investments we’ve been making for the past two years.”
