CORTE MADERA, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/07/12 -- Message Bus, pioneer of cloud-based infrastructure for email, mobile and social messaging, today released Discover, a free new reporting service that provides brands visibility into email senders who may be abusing their domain name for illicit or unauthorized purposes. Today Message Bus also released its Global Delivery Network, a software service for enterprises, email service providers (ESPs), and application developers requiring the ability to effectively send and deliver millions to billions of email, mobile, and social messages per month: http://www2.marketwire.com/mw/release_html_b1?release_id=950884.
With Discover and the Global Delivery Network, organizations have gained two simple steps to put a stop to unauthorized email senders. First, they have visibility into who is sending email on behalf of their domain or their brand via the free Discover service. Second, they can lock out unauthorized email senders by using the Global Delivery Network to send email across multiple channels.
"Email sending has turned into the wild west as IT has lost control over who is sending email on behalf of the organization's domain. If you are an organization with any type of brand cachet, it is likely fraudulent senders are attempting to hijack your brand for sending email containing phishing or malware attacks," said Jeremy LaTrasse, CEO and Co-Founder of Message Bus. "In addition, IT has no visibility or control over who in marketing or other parts of the business are authorized to send email or what internal or third-party service they are using. Many enterprises leverage multiple ESPs, in-house delivery systems and other 3rd party vendors. This can create chaos and potentially hurt the brand."
LaTrasse continued: "If your company uses transactional and marketing email channels to communicate with customers, Message Bus Discover uncovers brand hijacking by unauthorized email senders and provides data to help you remediate the problem. The Message Bus Global Delivery Network then provides a multi-channel messaging service which locks down your domain to only those authorized to use the service. Together Discover and our Global Delivery Network offer two simple steps towards better managing customer communications."
Discover collects data from Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting and Conformance (DMARC) compliant ISP networks such as AOL, Comcast, Google Gmail, Microsoft Hotmail, Yahoo! Mail, and NetEase and then provides reporting and analytics identifying which IP addresses are using an organization's domain name for phishing or other activity. Using the service, organizations are able to understand if their brand reputation is at risk due to fraudulent or unauthorized email senders. By quickly identifying unknown yet authorized senders, using the brand's domain, a quick transition can be made to the Global Delivery Network, a secure messaging environment. "Message Bus Discover provided much needed visibility into the impact unauthorized email senders were having on our customers and our revenues. With Discover, we identified unauthorized email senders costing our business approximately $1 million USD. Prior to Message Bus, we had thought we were doing pretty well. Post Message Bus, we now realize the value of having experts at sending email and other messages across multiple channels managing this aspect of our business. Now we focus on what we do best, selling great products and services, and leave the business of sending messages to Message Bus," said the CEO at an ecommerce company with $30 million USD in annual revenues.
