Norwegian BI solutions provider, RAV Norge, has signed a reseller agreement with Actian Corporation in order to offer Vectorwise, the record-breaking analytic database, to Norwegian organizations that are faced with analyzing large and complex volumes of data in order to facilitate business growth. As an existing Tableau Software partner, RAV Norge will offer Vectorwise together with the data visualization software as a joint data analytic and self-service business intelligence solution.
As the data explosion continues, businesses are turning to solutions such as Vectorwise and Tableau Software in order to mine, analyze and act upon big data sets, derive value from them and gain a competitive advantage in the market. RAV Norge believes that as an analytic database, Vectorwise offers the best price/performance ratio for Norwegian businesses that are tasked with analyzing customer and corporate information, running very complex queries to generate in-depth reports and analytics on their business in order to increase profits, reduce customers and improve customer satisfaction.
For companies that are struggling with ever-increasing data volumes as well as the cost and inflexibility of incumbent database and BI solutions that require indexes, data aggregations and OLAP cubes, the combination of Vectorwise and Tableau Software offers an easier and speedier alternative. While RAV Norge believes that Vectorwise offers the best performance in order to satisfy the large amount of growth in data volumes, the company also believes that the solution offers a compelling cost advantage by being a fraction of the price of incumbent solutions, both in terms of acquiring the software and running it.
“The Nordic market is crying out for newer, fresher and more cost-effective analytic and BI technologies in order to respond to the Big Data phenomenon,” explains Eskild Næss, partner at RAV Norge. “Typically, companies are used to older, more monolithic technologies that force users to attend lengthy training courses and soak up a lot of resources in database and OLAP cube maintenance. Now, with Actian Vectorwise, organizations in our market have the chance to benefit from extremely fast analytic performance by using a technology that is much simpler to use, much less expensive and much more flexible in terms of deployment. And by complementing Vectorwise with Tableau Software, we are poised to gain market share in the Nordics; organizations now have a solution that allows them to analyze and visualize their data as fast as it takes them to ask the question in the first place.”
“Vectorwise and Tableau Software represent a dynamic change in the way companies run and satisfy their BI and analytics projects,” explains Geoffrey Sheppard, VP of EMEA at Actian Corporation. “And just as many of our other partners in other geographies have done so, RAV Norge has differentiated itself in the market by offering a much more agile BI and analytic solution. We are delighted to welcome RAV Norge as our newest Vectorwise partner in Norway and we look forward to working with them to bring the power and simplicity of Vectorwise to Norwegian organizations that are faced with the challenge of deriving value out of Big Data.”
