CARDIFF, Wales, November 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
DeSL, a global company delivering integrated web based solutions for the Fashion, Apparel, Textile and Footwear sectors, announces a new initiative to help boost Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and design skills in the fashion industry.
The software allows students to get hands-on experience of the latest software being used in the industry today, with the intention that it will better equip them for employment opportunities once they enter the workplace. DeSL will be offering the opportunity for up to five educational establishments to apply for this initiative and incorporate the software into their educational program.
The Company can count some of the world leading renowned brands amongst its customer base, including Calvin Klein, VF Corp, Lyle & Scott, Bench, Men's Warehouse, Nautica - plus some of the largest fashion manufacturers. Marie McCarthy, Head of Marketing at DeSL commented, "We are delighted to launch this initiative and help do what we can to support the career development of tomorrow's fashion designers and production teams. We plan to invest a total of $500,000 to enable students to get that all important hands-on experience. Plus students can be assured that they are working on the latest industry software, as we are one of the few companies to deliver 100% web enabled solutions built entirely using Microsoft.Net. Not only does this make our solutions completely flexible, it gives assurance to our users that they are using solutions developed by the latest industry software standards."
Through entering into this initiative, students will also gain access to the powerful Adobe Illustrator Integrator which was launched by DeSL to the industry in 2011. This new application enables designers to perform all of their product management tasks without having to leave Illustrator, therefore removing all manual and non design related tasks, resulting in 20% reduction in design time.
Marie continued, "The Adobe Illustrator Integrator is currently being adopted by several world leading fashion brands and is creating a great buzz amongst the fashion design community, so to get this into the hands of the next generation of designers is something we are very excited about. All we ask is that those educational institutions who are interested to participate in this initiative make contact with us and we will speak with them on a first come first served basis."
