Mashery Accelerates the Extensible Enterprise With Full API Management for Web Service Technology Environments

Reseller Agreement With Intel Offers Enterprises Best-in-Class Enterprise API Management Solution, Bridges Gaps Between Data, Developers

SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/01/12 -- Mashery, the leading provider of API Management platforms and services, today announced a new version of its API Management platform and a reseller agreement with Intel that enables enterprises to use existing XML gateways or other web service technologies to quickly join the API movement. The new Mashery API Management solution for web service technology environments allows enterprises to extend the value of those existing software investments by using APIs to reduce success barriers for any business team driving new partnerships, market channels and internal innovation. To take this solution to market, Mashery is entering a reseller agreement with Intel for its new Intel® Expressway API Manager that combines API sharing from Mashery with secure back end application integration from Intel.

Strategic initiatives in today's extensible enterprise rely on a growing number of partners, as well as mobile and connected devices to drive success. Today's innovative enterprises are meeting this need by increasingly enabling their customers and partners with business processes and services in the cloud. Gartner predicts that 20 percent of non-IT Fortune 500 companies will be cloud service providers by 2015(1). APIs thus play a critical role in how these companies are becoming data-powered business platforms and content publishers, in their own right. APIs also give enterprises the ability to rapidly generate a platform effect by scaling and syndicating services for accelerated strategic business growth.

Mashery's first reseller partnership with a gateway or web service technology vendor helps address the extended focus of SOA Governance identified by Gartner Research in its 2011 Magic Quadrant for SOA Governance Technologies. As a result of the agreement, the Intel® Expressway API Manager offers API management features along with the Intel Expressway Gateway back-end technology for run-time management, enabling self-service partner onboarding and rich API analytics. This solution enables enterprises to use the on-premise back-end integrations from Intel and seamlessly integrate features of Mashery's multitenant SaaS API Management platform to expose APIs to the cloud, to developers and for apps.
