Delivering fast and simple access to SAP data with OData
London, 21 August 2012 - United Planet (www.unitedplanet.com), one of the leading developers of enterprise portal software in Europe, has introduced the first programming-free generic adapter for SAP NetWeaver Gateway. The new Intrexx Business Adapter uses the Open Data protocol (OData) to enable organisations to quickly and easily integrate their SAP data into powerful web applications or to make it available to employees via any mobile device, with no need for programming.
Axel Wessendorf, managing director of United Planet, explains: "The new Adapter will enable businesses to access SAP data and documents - from product images and order confirmations to invoices - in an extremely cost-effective manner. And thanks to the use of OData, integrating SAP data into a web application is now as simple as adding a database."
The Intrexx Business Adapter for SAP NetWeaver Gateway integrates SAP data and documents in three simple steps: select the service to be accessed, build the application with the Intrexx visual designer using ready-made components, and then select the required service functionality (e.g. read data, edit, delete). Mobile Apps for iPhone, iPad, BlackBerry, Android and other systems can also be created quickly and easily.
Gateway Content Services may be operated both on the SAP NetWeaver Server and directly on an SAP Backend System and, in both instances, they enable the generation of REST Web Services in accordance with OData. Web Services can be created using BAPIs, RFCs or even Dynpro, or they can be developed using ABAP Objects.
A video highlighting the benefits of the Intrexx Business Adapter for SAP NetWeaver Gateway that was shown at this year's SAPPHIRE NOW in Orlando can be viewed here: www.intrexx.com/en/videos/odata-sapphire-2012
The new adapter enhances the existing Intrexx Adapter for SAP Business Suite (www.intrexx.com/en/business-adapters/sap-business-suite) which provides access to all SAP data via RFC. A new Intrexx Adapter for OData enables businesses to quickly and simply integrate data from all software systems and Internet services based on OData into an enterprise portal and to make them available to mobile users at the same time.
