Daniel, played by Erik Mueller, is a geeky quantitative analyst. His coworker Paix, played by Tara Garwood ("Lovely Molly," "The Invasion"), loves peace and yoga. She wants to "help people and make lots of money at the same time." Daniel's boss Sam, played by Michael Gabel ("Homicide: Life on the Street"), has a big ego, but a great heart. Daniel's wife Debra, played by Julie Mun ("Past Life"), wants to live a life of luxury.
"The series was inspired by jobs I had at investment banks after graduating with degrees in computer science," Mueller says. "Some of these things may seem a bit outlandish, but similar things happen all the time on Wall Street."
In the first episode, Sam leaves to start his own fund. In the second episode, Debra asks Daniel for $100,000. In the third and fourth episodes, Paix has a brilliant idea for increasing karma in the world, and Paix and Daniel take the idea to Sam. In the fifth episode, Paix and Daniel launch a stock exchange for "niceness." In the sixth episode, Paix threatens to leave the firm. In the seventh episode, Debra wants to trade up to a new house.
