Kapow Technologies Announces Joint Venture Linked to Web Platform 3.0

Kapow's Web Integration Platform Implemented By Knight Ridder and Tribune JV

Kapow Technologies announced the Knight Ridder-Tribune Information Services joint venture. The two publishing firms in the U.S have implemented the Kapow Web Integration Platform to streamline their enterprise data collection. The solution has delivered a 250 percent improvement, the company informed. The collection speed and distribution of web-based news content is automatically in compliance with agreements.

The compliance is in place in the agreements between the copyright holder and more than 250 newspapers that license the content. The newspapers license the content to the KRT Business and Regional News services offered by Knight Ridder-Tribune Information Services.

Kapow said until now traditional methods for collecting and distributing Internet-based news required a great deal of human interaction. This caused high costs and low delivery speeds. Knight Ridder-Tribune Information Services faced a challenge of maintaining unique contract compliance details among its news content providers.

To solve the requirement of identifying the latest news, check for the editorial source, and collect only the content that adheres to established rules, Knight Ridder-Tribune Information Services implemented the Web Information Integration package of the Kapow Web Integration Platform. Kapow Technologies solution intelligently automates access to any web resource. Even those behind authentication pages are accessed. Once collected the Kapow platform performs advanced transformation and cleansing tasks before inserting the content into the target systems.

"Knight Ridder/Tribune Information Services is among the pioneers of Web 2.0 news content services providers on the Internet, and the methods that the joint venture has established are likely to become the de facto industry standard. We are pleased that the Kapow Web Integration Platform enabled them to improve time-to-market and content accuracy.  These improvements give our client a significant competitive advantage." " said Glenn Hasen, CEO, Kapow Technologies.
