Alexsys Corporation Introduces Enterprise-Ready Solution for Collaborative Task and Project Management

Alexsys Team(R) 2 Offers Cost-Effective Alternative to Cumbersome Project Management Systems and Automates Compliance Tracking

STONEHAM, Mass., Oct. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Alexsys Corporation, an innovative provider of collaborative task and project management software, today announced a new enterprise version of its Alexsys Team 2 software. Alexsys Team 2 automates task management and work processes for any kind of business. The new enterprise-ready, downloadable software helps organizations significantly reduce the time and cost of completing projects and tasks, and is especially useful for organizations struggling to remain efficient while adhering to ever-increasing standards for compliance.

With the addition of Enterprise features, companies can now streamline the tracking and management of work requests and tasks across multiple departments and applications including: engineering (for defect, product enhancement and new feature tracking); technical support (for help desk requests); sales (for quotes and ordering); and quality control (for standards compliance such as Sarbanes-Oxley and ISO 9000). New features include advanced security via group based access controls, enhanced forms processing, system polices to support multiple administrators, and fully optimized database access to work efficiently over WANs and the Internet.

Many workgroups use inefficient and inconsistent methods of managing their workloads, including homegrown spreadsheets, Word documents and other types of lists. In addition, traditional project management tools focus on project plans which are often large, cumbersome, and inaccurate, and provide little to improve the productivity of the individual contributor. Alexsys Team 2 focuses on task management allowing employees to manage their own workloads while permitting managers to direct, prioritize, and obtain real-time status of projects and ongoing work.

With recent compliance regulations like Sarbanes-Oxley, it is more important than ever that work groups have traceable and efficiently-managed development and work processes. Collaboration tools such as e-mail, weblogs, and Notes, tend to be free-form and unstructured, and are not appropriate for task management, record keeping or standards compliance. Using Alexsys Team 2, workers can easily record tasks in a relational database, allowing them to be prioritized, assigned, and completed with detailed documentation of pertinent discussions, notes, attachments, and a record of the time spent on each task. Alexsys Team 2 then automatically provides a detailed history and audit trail of all work being done -- recording every work request, change and task through to completion. In addition, Alexsys Team 2 restricts access to tasks and approvals, a feature that is essential for compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and other industry or company standards, like FDA approval requirements and ISO 9000.

How It Works

Designed to be up and running in minutes, Alexsys Team 2 works in Microsoft Windows(R) and using standard web browsers. An administrator can either use the product out-of-the-box or customize it using Alexsys' Adaptive Rules Engine to create specific fields, forms, tables, escalations and notifications which become immediately available to Team members without the need for rebuilding, rebooting, or restarting. Users can instantly view and organize their assignments, create and update tasks, and collaborate with other team members. Reports and live views are easily generated for a variety of organizational needs. Managers can quickly get a snapshot view of both individual user and project workloads, to identify bottlenecks, balance workloads, streamline group communications, and better leverage human resources.

Enhanced Features for Ease-of-Use, Better Work Management Alexsys Team 2 offers the following benefits and features for enterprises: * Advanced Security - Alexsys Team 2 now allows administrators and managers to keep their task management system and data more secure through a variety of new features. These features include group access controls, domain logins, system policies, customized password features and attachment security controls. * Enhanced Forms Processing - Using the new features of Alexsys' powerful Adaptive Rules Engine administrators can easily configure Team in alignment with their existing business processes to suit a variety of applications, including software development, product design and manufacturing, help desk, customer support and others. Using Multiple Work Request Forms, organizations can track various types of work across multiple groups in a single database. Enhancements to the Adaptive Rules Engine include: -- Triggers for automating data entry -- Lookup Value Filtering for better control over data entry selections -- Multi-select fields for including sets of values within a single field * Fully Optimized Database Access - Alexsys Team 2 has been optimized to allow organizations to run Team very efficiently over distributed and global networks. Database access has been fine-tuned to increase performance and lower network traffic, improving start-up time, opening requests, generating reports, and searching requests and knowledge base articles.

"The addition of Enterprise features to Alexsys Team 2 makes our product line highly appropriate for organizations of any size that want to better manage and streamline the work that's going on at their company," said Rich Bianchi, president and founder of Alexsys Corporation. "With Alexsys Team 2 Enterprise features, integration with leading databases, adaptability, and continued emphasis on ease-of-use, we've removed the last obstacles for large organizations that want to implement a broad-reaching solution for workgroup management."

Pricing and Availability

Alexsys Team 2 supports leading enterprise databases including Microsoft SQL, Oracle, and MySQL. Alexsys Team 2 is available immediately, and pricing starts at $295 per seat, with volume discounts. Special packages are available for installations of 500 seats or more.

When shopping for a new data processing platform for IoT solutions, many development teams want to be able to test-drive options before making a choice. Yet when evaluating an IoT solution, it’s simply not feasible to do so at scale with physical devices. Building a sensor simulator is the next best choice; however, generating a realistic simulation at very high TPS with ease of configurability is a formidable challenge. When dealing with multiple application or transport protocols, you would be...
Smart cities have the potential to change our lives at so many levels for citizens: less pollution, reduced parking obstacles, better health, education and more energy savings. We are given a desktop platform with Java 8 or Java 9 installed and seek to find a way to deploy high-performance Java applications that use Java 3D and/or Jogl without having to run an installer. We are subject to the constraint that the applications be signed and deployed so that they can be run in a trusted environment (i.e., outside of the sandbox). Further, we seek to do this in a way that does not depend on bundling a JRE with our applications, as this makes downloads and installations rat...

In this strange new world where more and more power is drawn from business technology, companies are effectively straddling two paths on the road to innovation and transformation into digital enterprises. The first path is the heritage trail – with “legacy” technology forming the background. Here, extant technologies are transformed by core IT teams to provide more API-driven approaches. Legacy systems can restrict companies that are transitioning into digital enterprises. To truly become a lead...
Digital Transformation (DX) is not a "one-size-fits all" strategy. Each organization needs to develop its own unique, long-term DX plan. It must do so by realizing that we now live in a data-driven age, and that technologies such as Cloud Computing, Big Data, the IoT, Cognitive Computing, and Blockchain are only tools. In her general session at 21st Cloud Expo, Rebecca Wanta explained how the strategy must focus on DX and include a commitment from top management to create great IT jobs, monitor ...

The IoT Will Grow: In what might be the most obvious prediction of the decade, the IoT will continue to expand next year, with more and more devices coming online every single day. What isn’t so obvious about this prediction: where that growth will occur. The retail, healthcare, and industrial/supply chain industries will likely see the greatest growth. Forrester Research has predicted the IoT will become “the backbone” of customer value as it continues to grow. It is no surprise that retail is ...
