FrontRange Helps Organizations Reduce Time and Effort to Roll Out Windows® 7

FrontRange Solutions, the developer of Infrastructure and Service Management software for mid-sized and distributed enterprises today announced that it has enhanced its Version 6 Client Management SuiteTM solution to provide full support for Microsoft ® Windows® 7 packaging, deployment and ongoing management.

Matt Fisher, product director at FrontRange Solutions, commented: “The popularity of Windows 7 has taken many organizations by surprise, and they are already seeing the operating system appear on their networks. At the same time, analysts are warning that the average organization will need 12-18 months to plan and execute a Windows 7 roll-out. Many organizations are already behind the curve, so there is a clear need for solutions that can help both plan and deploy the new OS, as well as providing the capability to manage PCs on the network that already have the new OS installed.”

In addition to Windows 7, the FrontRange Client Management Suite has also been enhanced to provide full support for Windows Server 2008 (and experimental support for R2) deployments as well as Citrix® XenApp 5 and 64-bit environments.

For Windows 7 deployments, FrontRange Client Management Suite uses the latest Windows Preinstallation Environment (WinPE) 3.0 technology – providing a faster and more reliable build of the operating system.

Fisher concluded: “Whether an organization is actively planning a Windows 7 deployment in 2010 or not, the influx of the OS onto the corporate network means they need to be able to manage it now. Otherwise there is a high risk that the network will be compromised due to a lack of centralised control when it comes to application management and PC configuration.”

Digital Transformation is much more than a buzzword. The radical shift to digital mechanisms for almost every process is evident across all industries and verticals. This is often especially true in financial services, where the legacy environment is many times unable to keep up with the rapidly shifting demands of the consumer. The constant pressure to provide complete, omnichannel delivery of customer-facing solutions to meet both regulatory and customer demands is putting enormous pressure on...
IoT is rapidly becoming mainstream as more and more investments are made into the platforms and technology. As this movement continues to expand and gain momentum it creates a massive wall of noise that can be difficult to sift through. Unfortunately, this inevitably makes IoT less approachable for people to get started with and can hamper efforts to integrate this key technology into your own portfolio. There are so many connected products already in place today with many hundreds more on the h...
The standardization of container runtimes and images has sparked the creation of an almost overwhelming number of new open source projects that build on and otherwise work with these specifications. Of course, there's Kubernetes, which orchestrates and manages collections of containers. It was one of the first and best-known examples of projects that make containers truly useful for production use. However, more recently, the container ecosystem has truly exploded. A service mesh like Istio addr...
