ATEC Group to Contribute to Growth of Capital Region Economy

IT virtualization, storage, and network infrastructure company to increase staff and add new locations

ALBANY, N.Y., Nov. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Tech Valley's leading IT infrastructure firm, ATEC Group, is pleased to announce that they will be expanding throughout the Northeast and are adding staff and additional services. ATEC Group was recently acquired by GSS America Infotech Limited. ATEC Group's name and structure will still remain unchanged as a wholly-owned subsidiary of the parent company. This new relationship will add to and complement ATEC Group's breadth of services and product offerings. With this acquisition, ATEC Group and GSS America will now become one of the largest IT solution providers in The Capital Region.

In addition to ATEC's current competencies including virtualization, storage, unified communications, datacenter design, managed print and network infrastructure services (working with partners such as NetApp, HP, VMware, Cisco, Microsoft, Xerox, APC and Citrix) ATEC will now have access to GSS's core competencies including workload automation, global sourcing, remote infrastructure management, and software application development. GSS and ATEC Group remain at the forefront of designing and implementing virtualized IT infrastructures, unified storage solutions, and providing end-to-end solutions for all of their customers' IT needs.

According to ATEC Group Vice President and CTO, Sandy Cohn, "This new relationship will give our customers access to new and exciting solutions and professional services that can help optimize their businesses. ATEC Group is still maintaining the same name, same staff, same location, and all of our current contracts. The major change is that ATEC Group and our clients now have access to 24 by 7 support from over 1000 additional GSS employees across the country and globally. ATEC and GSS America will now have locations in Albany, Manhattan, Hartford, South Florida, and Chicago. ATEC Group will increase their workforce by adding engineers and account managers over the next few months in their Albany office. In a time of economic and financial uncertainty for many businesses, it is exciting to be able to not only grow our business, but add jobs to the local economy, too," said Cohn.
