LONDON, November 11 /PRNewswire/ -- THE CHOCOLATE teapot remains a popular benchmark for objects that fail to perform their intended function but that didn't put off one eager buyer when the opportunity arose to purchase one created by Sebastian Conran.

Sebastian Conran is just one of the many celebrities including Jonathan Ross, Alan Carr, The Saturdays and West Ham Utd, who have given their support to a CelebriTEA pot auction which will raise funds for the Typhoo Sports for All initiative in partnership with the Federation of Disability Sport. The chocolate teapot in question was designed by celebrity designer Sebastian Conran for the auction but when the charity received the unexpected cash offer ahead of the auction going live on the 4th December, they saw just how useful a chocolate teapot could be!

Colin Chaytors, Chairman of the FDS says "We could not believe it when we received the call making the offer. It is a beautiful piece of art and we were delighted when Sebastian Conran, agreed to take part in our CelebriTEA auction. We didn't realise just how desirable the finished piece would be. The buyer insisted on no publicity - maybe he hasn't told his wife how much cash he has just forked out something which is deemed to be useless! But it is a very good cause and the donation will go to very good use."

The Typhoo Sports For All campaign, of which Sir Geoff Hurst is the ambassador, aims to give disabled people greater access to sport by training over 500 coaches across the UK. The scheme has just been awarded additional funds by Sport England's Sportsmatch programme that will enable many more coaches to be trained, helping thousand more disabled people to take part in the sports they love.

The full auction goes live on December 5th and has received massive support from dozens of celebrities including including Sir Geoff Hurst, Noddy Holder, Alan Carr, Lucy Pinder, The Saturdays, Melanie C, Danielle Lloyd, Toby Anstis, Gemma Atkinson and many more.
