Mezeo Software announced a partnership with Tier 3. As a Mezeo Premier Hosting Partner, Tier 3 will offer the Mezeo Cloud Storage Platform to enable customers to quickly and easily deploy their own complete, service-enabled cloud storage offering.
Tier 3 selected Mezeo to power their MetaFiler cloud storage solution, providing a new level of uptime and scalability for an organization’s infrastructure without the need to wait for hardware upgrades.
The Mezeo Cloud Storage Platform is a software-only, deployable solution with RESTful Web Services APIs for programmatic access to storage. It provides service providers such as Tier 3 with the opportunity to provide their own hosted and branded cloud storage offerings to their customers. Files stored in a Mezeo-based cloud can be securely accessed via pre-built, brandable access clients including the Web, smartphones (BlackBerry, iPhone and Windows Mobile) and desktop, using the Mezeo Native client for Windows and WebDAV based connectivity for Linux and Mac.
“Mezeo is undoubtedly the right solution to help us enter the cloud storage space,” said Jared Wray, Principal with Tier 3. “After an exhaustive evaluation, we concluded that the Mezeo Cloud Storage Platform provides a superior customer experience, market-leading security, accessibility and compatibility, and a lower total cost of ownership. The cloud storage market is maturing, and the Mezeo solution will enable us to deliver a reliable, affordable solution and the hands-on service and support that our customers need, but are not getting, from their current providers that offer no frills storage without strong service level agreements.”
Mezeo Cloud Storage Platform v3.0, available in December 2009 will feature additional compatibility with Amazon’s S3 APIs so organizations that developed applications for Amazon can easily migrate to the Mezeo-based cloud storage. Tier 3 customers will also get policy-driven geo-location and geo-replication so users can view and access their information through a single namespace.
“We look forward to working in partnership with Tier 3 to redefine what customers can expect from enterprise-class cloud storage service,” said Steve Lesem, President and CEO of Mezeo Software. “We are committed to helping our partners go to market quickly and effectively with a competitive solution that offers their customers the advanced scalability, security, performance and functionality they are requiring. Tier 3 represents our 12th Premier Hosting Partner since Mezeo emerged from stealth mode at the end of 2008. We are excited at the market place adoption of our technology.”
The Mezeo business model includes a Cloud Storage Readiness team to ensure a rapid and successful cloud storage service launch and a revenue model that is driven by shared success.
