MIAMI, FL -- (Marketwire) -- 09/11/09 -- UltimateBet today announced the sponsorship of the Second Annual Celebrity Casino Night in support of Eva's Heroes. Founded by "Desperate Housewives" star Eva Longoria, Eva's Heroes is dedicated to enriching the lives of those with developmental challenges and helping children and young adults with special needs to integrate and flourish in society. UltimateBet is hoping that its generous contribution to the prize pool will help attract even more participants and raise much needed cash for the worthy cause.
"The minute Eva Longoria asked me to emcee this event I crossed off whatever was written in my calendar and told her absolutely yes," stated UltimateBet's Phil Hellmuth. "The Celebrity Casino Night is a really fun event with some pretty cool celebrities and I'm really stoked about being out there with everyone and making a difference."
This is the second year for the Celebrity Casino Night and the second year that UltimateBet is helping to make it even more special. The online poker site is donating a seat in the 2010 World Series of Poker Main Event (a $10,000 value), bags of swag for all final table participants and autographed copies of Phil Hellmuth's new book "Deal Me In."
Celebrities slated to play in the poker tournament include Eva Longoria-Parker, Tony Parker, Sara Evans, Kyle Howard, Amaury Nolasco, David Zayas, Leeann Tweeden, Brian White, Jennifer Morrison, Ricardo Chavira, Brad Leland, Sean Elliott, Matt Bonner, Bruce Bowen, James Silas, Keith Edmondson and Mike Gale.
The celebrity poker tournament gets underway on September 12, 2009 at Pedrotti's North Wind Ranch in San Antonio, Texas. The $400 buy-in tournament includes a buffet dinner, $10,000 in chips for the Texas Hold'em tournament and an additional $1,000 in chips for all other casino games.
